About the role
This is a senior leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operational, financial, and people management performance of the plumbing business unit. You will lead supervisors, plumbers, apprentices, and specialist subcontractors to ensure contractual obligations are met, service excellence is consistently delivered, and business growth and profitability targets are achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the plumbing service team to deliver high-quality, compliant services
- Managing operational performance, service delivery, and contract outcomes across the Auckland region
- Ensuring financial performance, including scoping, pricing, and margin delivery on plumbing works
- Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Driving continuous improvement, productivity, and service excellence
- Ensuring compliance with all legislative, contractual, HSEQ, and company requirementsOperational planning, scheduling, and service optimisation
- Financial management, budgeting, and profitability control
- Driving a strong safety-first culture.
With the following preferred requirements and experience
- Minimum 5 years' management experience in a plumbing service, minor works, or contracting environment
- Trade-qualified plumber with NZ-recognised plumbing qualifications
- Minimum 5 years post-trade experience
- Strong understanding of plumbing design, estimating, and pricing.
- Proven people leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Sound knowledge of building regulations, statutory obligations, and industry standards
- Current unrestricted NZ Driver Licence
- Experience working with CMMS and within HSEQ systems.
